Somewhere near the mason Dixon line a virus developed that
displays mcafee alerts optimal which pop-up on systems not even running the popular antivirus progam. The new worm infests PC's by using their own anti-virus against them with a technique known as binding or Key hooks which utilize the Microsoft Platforms .dll or dynamic library for its own propigation. The first thing the virus does is copy itself to multiple locations and disguises itself as key operating system files to
avoid detection.
